Holding Store Manager, Starbucks Hereford

I joined Queensway in 2015. Last year as a supervisor I was given the opportunity to take on the 'Level 3 Apprenticeship in Management' which gave me the opportunity to learn management skills and gain an NVQ qualification. I soon became a holding store manager for Queensway in their Starbucks store in Hereford. This gave me the chance to put the skills I had learnt from my apprenticeship into use. I think that it is really great that Queensway offer a Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeships in their Starbucks business because it gives people like me, who chose not to go on to University, an opportunity to further their skills and put them into practise in the workplace.

Working for Queensway has opened up further opportunities for me to progress in my role, a role that I absolutely love.

Queensway are really passionate about supporting our community. Here in our Starbucks in Hereford we have a close relationship with a local organisation, the 'St Michaels Hospice', where we have helped fund raise on numerous occasions. Our partners in store have volunteered their time outside work to serve coffee at events to help raise money for the hospice. We often help by promoting their events in store with posters and by using our social media to help increase awareness to our customers of these local fundraisers. We keep in close contact with the hospice so that we can offer our help as much as possible.
